Today began week two of my job as a nanny. It was a somewhat taxing day, but the kids were good- that is, until their mom got home again! Eoghan's nose has been running nonstop so I think he might be getting a cold. My throat has also started hurting. I haven't been doing a lot of screaming, but we'll just go ahead and blame it on that anyway and pray that its not the start of a cold for me!!!
I got to talk to my mom and dad yesterday for a good 45 minutes which was great. (Happy birthday Riddawg!) Being so tech-saavy, they finally figured out Skype and so we had a good video chat- where I was heartbroken because my dog could hear me and ran to my room looking for me. I'm such a terrible mother.
I also got word today that David W. Otey, III will be gracing Ireland with his presence. I still can't decide if he's coming for the wonderful 9 hours on a plane or if he really wants to see me, but I'm happy to know he bit the bullet and bought his ticket. Gillian and I have already come up with a short list of places we'll go visit when everyone comes over!
Kieran's birthday is next week, so Gill is planning a surprise party for him this Friday night. She is getting a cake made in the shape of a Murphy's pint. If only I had brought my cake decorating tools and my baking buddies Savannah and Elizabeth to help me, we could have made it ourselves!! She has also started talking about our Thanksgiving dinner in November. I told her that would be my chance to cook for the whole family. Kind of scary that I'll be providing them with their first Thanksgiving. I'm going to need recipes so send them my way!!
Happy Labor Day to everyone at home!

ReplyDeleteon thanksgiving in america while the rest of my family enjoys mother's homemade cooking, i dont like a single traditional thanksgiving food. opt out of cooking thanksgiving and instead provide your irish family with one of savannah's favorite thanksgiving treats:
