I told Gill this morning that Katie, Eoghan, and I were going to have a Pity Party all day. Katie woke up last night with a bad cold and couldn't get back to sleep. Her nose is really runny so she is having trouble breathing- you can't exactly get a 9 mo. old to blow her nose either. She had a pretty pitiful day though and was really a total wreck. As was I! My throat is really bothering me. Poor Gillian is sick too. Not good.. I really don't know how you beat out colds in a house with little kids because they don't understand not to put their hands in their mouths or wash their hands before eating, etc. I've been Bay Bay's child today and lived beside my hand sanitizer! Ha! Anyway, we'll beat it soon enough. Today was really crummy weather anyway, so we didn't miss much outdoor time.
Kieran is only working three days a week right now, so he was home the majority of the day. I was really grateful for him to be around because Katie was really discombobulated and it was good to have an extra set of hands. I think he was also able to get a lot of things done around the house.
Tonight Gillian's friend (also named Gillian) took me to "boot camp" in Killavullen. I took a nap once Gill got home, so I felt well enough to go. I figured it'd be a good idea to get my white blood cells working (lesson from the one and only Sarah Otey). I went ahead and signed up for seven weeks of boot camp. It meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but I just signed up for one day a week. The instructor was very nice and gave me the discounted rate (20 euros off!) because I'm an au pair and she knows we aren't paid very well. I thought that was really nice of her. Boot camp was not anywhere near as hard as Mary Lewis' but was hard enough. It'll be a nice way to break up just running around here since I'm not a member of a gym (yet at least).

ReplyDeleteYou guys should have seen David trying to do pushups on this new strength training thing Bethany and I have been using. His arms were shaking all over the place and one time he just completely fell on his face. Dad called him a "sissy" of course.
ReplyDeletePS. Page Im really sorry you're sick. And yes, as long as your ailment is mild, it is better to be a little active. Also, drink lots of water. And dont touch toddler snot.
