Mom, this one's for you...
In case y'all haven't heard, there has been a lot of controversy about the Ireland vs. France soccer match. It was a World Cup qualifying match and Ireland lost on a TERRIBLE call. In replays you can see the French player touch the ball with his hand and the referees didn't call anything (just as the ball went into the goal). The Irish are really upset about it and FIFA (the soccer federation) is refusing to go back on the call unless France steps up and says it was a bad call and they shouldn't have won because of it. (Its France so that probably won't happen!) Anyway, its been huge news here (bigger than the historic flooding thats happening) so I wanted to make sure everyone at home had heard about it.
