Back in the Emerald Isle

After nine days at home (not ten because of the ash cloud!!), I am back in Ireland with my buddy Taylor. We have had a whirlwind of a "day" after waking up yesterday at 7 AM, leaving at 7:30 for DC, barely making our 11:30 AM bus to NYC, eating dinner in Penn Station with NATALIE WILSON (surrounded by cops with machine guns- security was tight!!), briefly getting to meet up with Carolyn (!), having our two NYC inhabitants show Taylor and I (the two country bumpkins) how to catch the New Jersey Transit to Newark, carrying our 50+ lb bags up four flights of stairs, taking the monorail to the airport, finally checking in, having our flight delayed 3 hours, eventually leaving Newark at 1 AM, landing in Shannon at 12PM (6AM body time), taking the bus to Mallow, and THEN picking up my car, we have made it back to Killavullen!

We took much-needed showers which helped wake us up a little bit and then we headed up to Marie's to see Katie and Marie's boys. Ben had WAY too much fun playing 'dinosaur baseball' with Taylor. Not sure how much Tay actually enjoyed it!! When we headed home, we finally got to see Eoghan!! He was SO excited to see Taylor again. He immediately started showing off by jumping on his 'jump-o-line'.

Tay and I brought over a few small things for Eoghan and Katie (dresses for Katie, a whoopie cushion and Buzz Lightyear pajamas for Eoghan). Eoghan- I mean 'Buzz'- has been flying around the kitchen all night. Also, unfortunately the whoopie cushion already ripped, causing a momentary TRAGEDY. He got a kick out of it while it lasted though.

They were just as excited about the American flags as they were about the clothes! (notice that Katie loves America so much that she threw hers on the floor)

I loved being home and am excited to know that I will be back in a month. Its going to be INCREDIBLY hard to leave everyone here, but I'm happy to know how easy it was to re-adjust to 'city' living when I was home.
