The other day I received the greatest compliment a girl can receive from an Irishman- Eoghan, the romantic, called me his 'bag of spuds' (spuds are what they call potatoes). He really knows how to flatter a girl! Still don't really know how to take that comment.
Today was Gill's cousins funeral and burial. Gill and Kieran had Kieran's sister Emma (David Otey's future bride) come pick up Eoghan this morning to be with her for the day, so it was only Katie and I. We had a nice, quiet morning having the same conversation one hundred times "bab bab bab" (!) The poor girl forgets that we've already had that discussion! She was a perfect angel, as always. Around 1:30, Kieran's dad and sister came to take Katie for the rest of the afternoon so I could have most of the day to myself. It was really nice of them to arrange that because I was able to relax some before the week starts.
William took me farming this afternoon and I finally got to milk the cows. Before I milked, I "tagged" a calf (#672 for those of you who are interested). It was pretty sad, but I figured I went through the same thing when I had my ears pierced! I wore the raggediest clothes I brought, but luckily they had a big windbreaker I could wear while I was milking- otherwise I would have been soaked with milk and covered in cowpies! They have 130 cows, so we were there a good three hours (including prep and clean up). He also gave me a stick shift driving lesson. Surprisingly it wasn't that strange driving on the opposite side of the car. We were driving through fields, so I still don't know what the other side of the road feels like. I'm definitely not a pro at stick shift now, but I appreciated the lesson for when my car is ready.
